Allen Brown

Allen Brown has been part of the Dallas Ft. Worth real estate community for 41 years. He worked at CB Richard Ellis for 27 years and was one of 9 brokers who helped open the original Dallas office in 1972. One of the first real estate transactions he ever worked on was the sale of Neiman Marcus’ first expansion store at Preston Center. Allen was part of the CB team that assisted Trammell Crow Company with their first two shopping center developments. He also helped companies, i.e., Chili’s, Spring Creek BBQ, Cinemark Theatres, Chuck E. Cheese, Harold’s and PetSmart in securing some of their very first locations. He’s been involved with the leasing, development, and sale of many high profile commercial projects ranging from freestanding buildings and strip centers to power centers and regional malls i.e., North Park, Prestonwood Towne Center, and Stonebriar Centre. In addition to being the top producer within his own office, Allen was also a top producer for CB Richard Ellis, both regionally and nationally. He was a multi-year winner of the Colbert Coldwell Circle Award, Central Region Investment Sales Leader, and a member of CB Richard Ellis’ Chairman Club.

Allen left CB Richard Ellis in 1999 to assist Hodges Development Services in the development of the 1.2 million square foot Centre at Preston Ridge in Frisco, which won Dallas Business Journal’s award as Best New Retail Development of the Year. During that same time he also helped secure the first DFW Market Street specialty grocery store for their Town Center Colleyville development.
After leaving Hodges Development in 2006, Allen Brown Commercial Realty, LLC was formed to assist clients with acquisitions and dispositions in the southwest U.S.

Allen is a graduate of Texas Christian University, where he attended on a football scholarship. He and his wife Kathy, who will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this June, are the proud parents of two adult sons. Their eldest son, Spencer, also a TCU grad, lives with his wife Jenn in Raleigh, NC, where he is in the fiber optics business with M3 Cable and Charter Communications. Alex, a Baylor University graduate, works in the Dallas office of Orix Real Estate Equities and is the family’s 4th generation real estate man.

Allen and Kathy were charter members of Sojourn Church in Carrollton, where they have been active for 26 years. They have served as home fellowship leaders for the past 10 years and are part of Dudley Hall’s SCLM/Kerygma Ventures Circle Of Servants. Allen is a charter member of the 27 year old “Buckaroo Bible Study” and a past Board Director of Reconciliation Outreach Ministries, a downtown Dallas homeless shelter. He serves on the Texas Steering Committee of Retail Christian Network, a marketplace ministry born out of LifeWay Christian Stores real estate consultant and “Reflections on a Higher Call” author, David Atchison’s desire to share the good news of Jesus Christ in the Shopping Center industry.

Allen enjoys golf, hunting, and travel, and is an avid reader of sports, military, and American History. He is also an avid TCU Horned Frog fan and a former Dallas Director of the TCU Lettermen’s Club.

Most importantly, the Lord is writing a new story on the pages of Allen Brown’s heart; one in which the soul crushing tenets of performance and legalism are being replaced with the soul-satisfying affirmation of God’s mercy and grace.
