IDEOLOGY…drives everything. You are (or become) what you think. I had a funny experience some years ago. Joanne invited me to her Christian Women’s Club to hear Bill Glass speak. A massive man was addressing this group of ladies and a few men. His opener went this way. “You are what you think; so in college I must have been a girl, since that is mainly what I thought about.” Brought down the house!
Many ‘isms’ recruit children at a very young age to indoctrinate them with their ideology. While growing up, I remember seeing and reading about Hitler’s message to the German people. Over and over again, it was the same endless sound bite.
Later, our nation was in a long cold war with Communism and clearly their children became brainwashed early in life to their beliefs, without having access to any opposing views.
And we have the very first words spoken into any Muslim newborn’s right ear by the father: “God is great, there is no God but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Come to prayer.”
As I was reflecting on this subject, I was reminded of the very first words God spoke to man in the garden. ‘God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”‘ (Gen. 1:28 NIV). So, simply put, He gave man everything he needed to accomplish the four-pronged mission.
  • Be fruitful,
  • Fill the earth,
  • Subdue it and
  • Rule over it.
“The Earth is yours, and I’ll make it possible for you to succeed.”
God’s plan was for us to cover the earth and worship Him. The first parents were warned of the consequences of disobedience-death, separation from Him. This plan has not changed, but our sin has altered the route. Just like Israel in the desert! By God’s hand, some of them eventually got to the Promised Land in spite of themselves.
So He made provision, just as He always has, for His original plan/vision to be accomplished. The Cross! Sin was defeated once and for all to those who believe in Jesus’ life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension. Grace has been there from the start, even providing the clothing for Adam and Eve when they sinned and their expulsion from the Garden. He would have been within His rights to have kept them out forever. Now, by the grace of new life in Christ, God continues to fill the Earth with his new creations, Believers. He is accomplishing it through faith. These new creations, you and I, will occupy the new Jerusalem, heaven and earth. Read Revelation. He will not fail!
But like every great plan, there is always the enemy. Satan attempted to derail it by deceiving Eve, tempting Jesus three times in the wilderness; and then he thought the death of Jesus was his final victory, and now we read daily of the killing of Christians all over the world. It has been said that Satan is smart but not wise. So many people being saved across the world is evidence of God’s ultimate victory. But until the devil and his constituents are finally cast into the abyss once and for all, he is still devising counterfeit plans. Several millennia after creation and all that has ensued, an ideology was birthed through a man, Muhammad in AD 610. An angel delivered the message. I’ll let you decide whose angel that might have been. Islam was born, and Allah was placed into the role of their god. Guess what the end goal is? Right. World dominion. Sound similar to God’s original plan? You bet!
So, we have a choice. Light or darkness; life or death! The decision has eternal consequences. If this matters to you, and it should, I advise you to research both Christianity and Islam. (https://www.namb.net/apologetics/comparison-chart-islam-and-christianity).
In a previous life lesson I asked if you believe you can re-enter God’s Garden, heaven, by your good works, your own merit, by your own worthiness, or must it be by grace through faith in the One who shed his blood for our atonement? Muhammad may have provided some good and some not so good religious doctrine/traditions, but he did not atone for your sins. Jesus did. It is as simple as that.
I’ll end with this illustration.
(W)     Salvation by works alone     Jesus is irrevelant
(C+W) Christ plus works                 Jesus is insufficient
(CA)    Christ alone                         Jesus is sufficient
What is your ideology? Your efforts, or God’s grace? You cannot have it both ways. Choose today! Tomorrow is not promised.
